It is a saw with a special tooth on the tip to be able to cut from the center of a board. A great feature for doing cutouts and large mortises. The 9.5” blade saw can cut thin boards and square lumber up to 2” thick.
Z-saws are produced by Okada Hardware Manufacturing Company (established in 1943). This company uses a method called hard impulse, which is the process of instant heating and cooling of the cutting edge for extended wear. Blade is replaceable when dull or damaged.
